PAIA manual
Last updated 6 August 2026This web version provides the store's access-to-records framework. The legal entity particulars and signed/formal PAIA manual must be completed by the head of the business and submitted or made available as required before launch.
1. Private body and Information Officer
The private body trades as The Bargain Hub from Bredell, Kempton Park, Gauteng. Requests are directed to privacy@thebargainhub.co.za. The legal entity name, registration details, head of the private body, Information Officer, telephone number and full physical/postal addresses must be inserted in the finalized manual.
2. Information Regulator guide
The Information Regulator publishes a guide explaining how to exercise rights under PAIA. It is available from inforegulator.org.za/paia-guidelines.
3. Records that may be available without a request
Public website content, product information, published policies and a customer's own order invoices are ordinarily available without a formal PAIA request. Access remains subject to authentication and protection of other persons' information.
4. Categories of records held
- Company, governance, policy and statutory records.
- Finance, tax, payment, refund and accounting records.
- Customer accounts, orders, invoices, offers, communications and support records.
- Supplier, product, pricing, stock and delivery records.
- Employee and contractor records, where applicable.
- Information technology, authentication, security, audit and incident records.
- Marketing, consent, analytics and website records.
5. Processing of personal information
The purposes, data-subject categories, information categories, recipients, cross-border processing and general safeguards are described in our Privacy policy. Categories include customers, prospective customers, staff, contractors, suppliers and website users.
6. How to request a record
Submit the prescribed PAIA request form to the Information Officer with enough detail to identify the requester, record, requested form of access, right being exercised and reason access is required. Proof of identity, authority and applicable prescribed fees may be required. A request may be granted, partly granted, transferred or refused on grounds permitted by PAIA.
7. Availability
Once finalized, the complete manual will be available on this website and at the business's office. It will be reviewed when the organisation, processing activities or legal requirements materially change.
